Course Description

Our highly experienced faculty at KAL Training deliver basic comprehensive training that will equip you with a range of specialised knowledge, skills, procedures and expertise to lend a hand to individuals struggling with alcohol and drug dependency, implement health promotion and community interventions. Here you will also be taught how to provide withdrawal services, along with ethical and legal requirements of working in the alcohol and drug-related support services. Insightful learning methods including workshops and field trips are so designed by our experts to consider and comprehend the heterogeneity of alcohol and other drug abuse. Workers promote a person-centered approach, often work autonomously under the broad guidance of practitioners with limited responsibility and within defined parameters, and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

There are no entry requirements for this course, however students are required to undertake the Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment and Pre -Training Review. This will assist to determine candidate’s suitability and relevance for the course and identification of any support required.
